Wine Maker
Sandro & Marika Sperk
It all started in 1986. The year in which Frank Böhme’s first daughter was born and in which he planted a small vineyard.
Over 35 years later, the next generation is now in charge.
Marika and her husband Sandro manage the fortunes of the small winery in Gleina, which today produces some of the most beautiful wines of the region.
Awarded the ‘Newcomer of the Year 2023 in Germany’ by VINUM.
Weingut Böhme & Töchter are part of the prestigious VDP Association.
The Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) is a German organisation which promotes the country's top wines and estates. It unites 200 of Germany's finest wineries under one banner

Terroir
Saale-Unstrut, Germany
The place where our largest plants ripen is the Freyburg Schweigenberg.
The picture changes from plot to plot, sometimes from row to row, wild orchids growing here, wild thyme there.
The steep southern orientation and rich mineral wealth of the 100% muscle limestone remain the same.
Schweigenberg is a picture perfect location for large plants with a cool, dry continental climate, steep south-facing slopes, the special microclimate of the river valley and deep, weathered limestone soil on heat storing bedrock.
Here, Mediterranean herbs grow to compete with the wine. And you can taste it. The typical minerality is always accompanied by a delicate herbal bouquet.
They are bio-dynamically cultivating 13 acres with a yearly production of 20,000 bottles.
