Introducing
Weingut PAX
Patience and Time

Wine Maker
Franz & Verena Pichler
Founded in 2020 by Franz & Verena, the Weingut has some of the oldest vines in the region.
The grapes are being given the time they need to develop their full aromatic potential.
In the cellar they have the patience necessary to let the wines mature on the fine lees for as long as possible.
Because only with a few interventions in the winemaking process do they create wines that, through their elegance and finesse, produce the radiance that they love so much.
Weingut PAX was awarded the ‘Discovery of the year 2023 Austria’ by Gault Millaut.

Terroir
Wachau, Austria
The vineyards extend from the western part of the Dürnsteiner Kaiserberg, over Jochinger Kollmitz to the Wösendorfer Höll.
Different Soil formations and climatic conditions influence the aromas of our vineyard wines.
The Ried Kollmitz lies high above Joching, between the Pichlpoint and Kollmitz vineyards.
The conditions are cool and influenced primarily by climatic influences from the Atlantic west of the Wachau and the northern Waldviertel.
Thanks to the wind protected position, the heat that occurs during the day is stored for a long time. Even in very dry weather phases, a good supply of water and nutrients is guaranteed.
Franz & Verena are bio-dynamically cultivating 17 acres are are producing around 35,000 bottles per year
