“Patience & time”

Weingut PAX

WINEMAKER:

FRANZ & VERENA PICHLER

Weingut PAX has some of the oldest vines in the region and they give their grapes the time they need to develop their full aromatic potential.

In the cellar we have the patience necessary to let our wines mature on the full yeast or fine yeast for as long as possible.
Because only with a few interventions in the winemaking process do we create wines that, through their elegance and finesse, produce the radiance that we love so much.
Weingut PAX was awarded the “Discovery of the Year 2023 Austria” by Gault Millaut

TERROIR:

WACHAU (AUSTRIA)

Our vineyards extend from the western part of the Dürnsteiner Kaiserberg, over the Jochinger Kollmitz to the Wösendorfer Höll.
Different soil formations and climatic conditions influence the aromas of our vineyard wines.

The Ried Kollmitz lies high above Joching, between the Pichlpoint and Kollmütz vineyards. The conditions are cool and influenced primarily by climatic influences from the Atlantic west of the Wachau and the northern Waldviertel.
Thanks to the wind-protected position, the heat that occurs during the day is stored for a long time. Even in very dry weather phases, a good supply of water and nutrients is guaranteed. Franz & Verena are cultivating 17 acres and are producing around 35,000 bottles per year.
