Lagrein 'Riserva' 2020 - Weingut H. Lentsch

VINIFICATION

The grapes were harvested and selected by hand in several passes from mid to late
October. Fermentation with the grape's own natural yeasts took place for 3 weeks on the skins in open wooden vats. The wine was initially aged for 12 months in new oak tonneau. The wine was then bottled unfiltered and matured for a further 12 months.

DESCRIPTION

South Tyrolean red wine from the autochthonous Lagrein grape variety. The wine assumes a dark, pomegranate red color in the glass, with a very intense, complex spectrum of aromas of fruity notes of dark berries (huckleberry, raspberry and plum),  accompanied by spicier notes (dark chocolate, black pepper). It is dry and intense on the palate, rich in tannins with a harmonious acidic blend and an elegant minerality. A harmonious Lagrein with an intense, persistent structure. Shelf life at least 6 to 8 years.

RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS

Excellent served with hearty meat dishes from beef to all types of game and mature hard cheeses.
