Our Sapphire grade Caviar is the highest quality standard.
In its natural environment, the Russian sturgeon occurs primarily in the Caspian Sea and its tributaries, especially the Volga, but also in the Black Sea and came to spawn in the Danube, up to Vienna and beyond. Its caviar usually has a slightly brownish, shiny to golden-green color and the grain ranges from 2.7 mm to over 3.0 mm. The intense nutty taste leaves a long-lasting note on the palate.
Osietra caviar is, along with Beluga, certainly the best-known type of caviar. ALPENKAVIAR is the only producer of this exclusive caviar in the entire Alpine region.
