Pinot Blanc 'Berg' 2023 - Weingut Schloss Englar
HARVEST AND VINIFICATION
Bunches were manually selected in two successive harvests between the end of August and the
beginning of September. Grapes were destemmed, crushed and gently pressed. Native yeast
fermentation took place half in wooden vats and half in steel tanks, and the 7 months of aging on fine
lees that followed maintained this ratio of wooden vat and steel contact. Bottling took place in May 2024.
THE WINE
Medium straw yellow hue. This vintage gave the Berg Pinot Blanc a lively and fresh vivacity. The nose
bears hints of citrus and pome fruit, with gentle undertones of toasted oak. The wine’s elegance and
harmony are woven together by a punctuated minerality in the mouth.
RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS
A perfect pairing for Italian pasta dishes and fish. This wine effortlessly compliments traditional dishes of
the region it comes from, such as South Tyrolean buckwheat ravioli and spinach Spätzle.
