Weingut H. lentsch
WINEMAKER:
STEFAN DONÁ
Stefan has turned his passion for good wines, his long-standing experience and expert knowledge into his career.
The history of the Weingut started already in 1882.
Hartmann Lentsch purchased the Schwarze Adler Inn and started to press wine for his own customers. This passion is still perceptible
in the third generation – in the attentive handling of nature and its conditions, in the care taken with cultivation and last but not least
in the wines from the H. Lentsch Winery itself.
TERROIR:
ALTO ADIGE (ITALY)
Wine production under perfect climatic conditions.
Kissed by the sun, spoiled by nature.
Located in the south-west, facing the sun, our vineyards are located in one of the warmest regions of South Tyrol.
In the south of South Tyrol, the H. Lentsch Winery in Bronzolo is situated at an altitude of 230 to 260 meters a.sl., embedded between porous porphyry rock at the footof a large alluvial cone. In this environment, where days are hot and nights are cool, our vines are perfectly aerated by winds such as the “ora” from Lake Garda, but also by the mountain air cooled by ice holes.
The red quartz porphyry rock of Bronzolo ensures natural drainage and healthyvine growth - for unique wines.
The oldest vines date back to the 70s. Vines have to be treated as gently as possible, staring with the choice of the ideal location for each grape variety. Low impact pruning and efficient handling in just a few steps and no artificial fertilisers or herbicidesensure that the vines stay robust and vital until old age.
17 acres are being organically cultivated with a production of 55,000 bottles per year.
